History
The original company, Pumpcare, was formed in 1982 as an
independent service provider supporting pumping
equipment in the local area.
In 1988 the company was acquired by Sulzer Pumps to act
as its service facility supporting the UKCS offshore oil
and gas market. It was at this stage the first phase of
the current specialised service facility was completed.
In 1994 Sulzer Pumps and Wood Group agreed to create a
joint venture company, Sulzer Wood, aimed at providing
market leading differentiated service solutions to our
customers. This meant that we were in a position to be
able to draw on the unique expertise and capabilities of
both parent companies.
This led to an increased demand for our services as a
result of which the second phase of the facility
development was instigated thereby doubling our
capacity.
Since that point Sulzer Wood has continued to be
successful and grown substantially both in terms of
business volume, market share and in numbers of
employees.
Phase three of the facility development was completed in
September 2006, it now comprises of a 5,600m˛ purpose
built rotating machinery service centre and specialist
inventory management capability.
This allied to our team of dedicated and specialist
personnel has led us to now being the leading provider
of pump and gas compression service solutions to the
local market and are well positioned to continue the
success story that commenced over 25 years ago….
